The Final race of the Herons Association Travellers Trophy was held at Dobroyd on
Saturday April 5th. Final placings were calculated by the race secretary Greg Harris
and trophies presented straight after the event.

The Juniors TT was also held at 1130 am in a very light and challenging 5 knots southwester. Emma Harris ran away with it in the fluky conditions and finished well ahead in the fleet.

Emma’s win only cemented a strong lead in the overall results, giving her the 2007/8 Junior Travellers Trophy.

In the Seniors race in the afternoon the wind had filled in from the North East but was still light, with the start only about 6-8 knots. About 12 Herons crossed the line with Garry Morrison in Ruff & Ready (DAC) nailing a point tack start, and crossing ahead of the fleet.

But it was Princess Fiona(Ron Garner DAC) who slowly lifted away from the fleet to lead at the first mark from Aggrovation (Michael Groves
GRSC). A bit of local knowledge can go a long way at DAC.

Ruff & ready (Gary and Ben Morrison DAC) meanwhile were in close racing for 3rd spot with Appauled, (Paul ArmstrongGRSC), Two Goats ina Boat (Greg and Emma Harris NLSC) and The Force (Rhys Llewelyn NLSC).

It was on the last kick around Rodd Island that Paul and Rhys broke away and closed on Ron , who just held on at the finish, by 30 seconds.
