Celebration of Windsurfing event
Wednesday, 19 December 2007 10:00
Last Sunday saw the running of the Annual Celebration of Windsurfing at Kyeemagh, Botany Bay. This event sees all of the different classes within the wonderful sport of windsurfing get together and celebrate our great sport. More than 100 people turned up to take part in the days activities despite the weather, which was not all that kind with the odd bit of rain and generally overcast conditions.

Activities on the dayincluded junior learn to windsurf which was very successful with more than 60 kids getting a taste for windsurfing. Also included were a buy, sell swap meet as well as mini races and training seminars from some of the sports elite.

Of course all of this was followed by a sausage sizzle and prize giving for the Slalom National Championships which were held on the Saturday. There is no doubt that this event will be back next year bigger and better. While there were a handful of DACers there, let's hope that next year we can get a few more.
